Transcript for Search underway for missing armored car guard
But first that mysterious disappearance of an armored truck driver in Kentucky. Yeah, he was on the job making a drop but went missing and so did the cash and ABC’s Lana Zak joins us with more. Reporter: Good morning. It was broad daylight when the driver of an armored vehicle seemed to vanish leaving behind more questions than clues. This morning, police say they don’t know if this man, mark Espinosa, is the victim of a crime or the criminal himself after he mysteriously disappeared in this busy area from the armored truck he was driving. We’re looking at every aspect. If he is missing, if he could be in danger, if he could be a suspect. Reporter: Wednesday afternoon police say Espinoza was behind the wheel of this garda truck in Louisville, Kentucky. His partner went inside the Jefferson mall to pick up and drop off cash and that’s the last time anyone saw Espinoza. A holdup just occurred, Jefferson mall. It’s going to be for a garda driver. The driver of the vehicle is missing along with the money. Reporter: Espinoza has no criminal record, and garda says he was a good employee and that they wouldn’t be speculating giving this statement to ABC news. Gardaworld is cooperating fully with local law enforcement and we’re also deploying all efforts to locate our employee and hope to find him safe and sound. Police are questioning neighbors and have searched the home Espinoza shares with his father who worries that his son has been hurt or killed. I’ve maybe seen him once or twice out walking his dog. Other than that he kind of like kept to himself. Reporter: Now police won’t say how much money was taken and in another mysterious twist the vehicle was not seen on any surveillance cameras.
