remember the American workers affected by this are all over our country. 85% of them are outside Washington, D.C., and tonight, as I mentioned, many are in line for food. And one worker telling us tonight, she’s choosing between her medication or paying her electric bill. This isn’t politics, these are people’s lives. And here’s Steve osunsami. Reporter: The shutdown is forcing federal workers like kings Floyd to make hard choices. It’s about four days where I was off the medication. Trying to not have a seizure. Reporter: She has muscular dispro if I and had to pick between paying for power or for the medicine she needs to prevent her seizures. She says the lights won. You have people that are being evicted. You have people that are going without insulin and going without the care they need, and as a person with a disability, the threat to me is, I get in an institution, because I can’t take care of myself. Reporter: Some children who get school lunches subsidized by the government are having to cut back, too. In Vance county, North Carolina, they’re rationing fresh produce as long as the government is closed. The sooner they can do something about it, the better it will be for us low income families. Reporter: Government contract workers, who aren’t on the government payroll, have it worse. When we go back, we don’t get the back pay. Reporter: She, too, the joining workers from the EPA, the coast guard and other agencies lining up for donated food. We’re learning that FBI agents tonight and secret service agents are now having to pay their own travel expenses. And David, these are people who are working without a paycheck. David?
