Now to the frightening shootout in Arkansas all caught on dash cam video. A police officer pulling over a driver when suddenly the driver gets out of the car and opens fire. ABC’s Steve osunsami joins us now. Good morning, Steve. Reporter: Good morning to you, Michael. This was northwest Arkansas on Sunday and this morning police say that this accused gunman was determined to cause serious injury. This is a routine traffic stop in Arkansas and what this officer doesn’t know is that it’s about to turn violent. Shots fired. Reporter: The driver starts shooting at the officer round after round in broad daylight. In a gunfight out here with somebody. Reporter: He gets closer to the police vehicle. Another camera catches the gunfight. That’s corporal Brett Thompson shooting back fighting for his life behind his SUV. Police say the shooter is 29-year-old Louis kobosanobis. I need units now. He’s fleeing in a vehicle. Reporter: But then a short bit down the road the alleged shooter’s vehicle stops down the road and someone steps out. Police say that woman is his girlfriend. That’s my boyfriend but I knew nothing about it. Why did he pull a gun on me. I have no clue. I don’t know. I swear I have no clue. Reporter: The corporal wag unharmed but his vehicle and windshield, specifically the driver’s side are filled with bullet holes. This suspect appeared in court. He’s being charged with attempted murder. He has not yet entered a plea. He was shot in the shoulder but it’s a nonlife-threatening injury, we’re told. He was treated at the hospital and released. The officer was unhurt. Good to know that. All right, Steve, thank you.
