Now to the major break in the intensifying manhunt for a hit-and-run driver wanted in a horrifying crash in Florida. That crash which was caught on camera sent one car tumbling. And this morning we’re hearing from the father of the teenager ABC’s erielle reshef has more. Reporter: Good morning. Authorities confirming they have impounded they say they believe the SUV that caused this horrific crash. The father of the victim tells us he saw that now viral video before he even got to the hospital. He is now speaking out as his son fights for his life. This morning an emotional plea from the father of 19-year-old Jackson Kelley after a van plowed into his son’s car leaving him in critical condition. My child is lucky to be alive. Somebody out there knows what happened and they know the person that was driving the car. Reporter: The terrifying crash caught on surveillance cameras Thursday. This was in Sarasota, Florida. Watch as the van tries to make a turn into a gas station swerving into oncoming traffic slamming into Jackson’s sedan sending it tumbling at least four times toward a hotel pool. It smashes into a concrete barrier before coming to rest on its roof. People are hollering call 911 and it was just a bit of chaos at first. Reporter: Panicked bystanders racing to help. I didn’t know what to do. I mean until somebody come with the ambulance, that’s the only thing we had to wait on because he was bruised up pretty bad. Reporter: But the driver of the van taking off less than five seconds after impact. To see a car crash with that violence and velocity, clearly that person was running from something. Reporter: This morning Florida authorities confirming after a day’s long search they found the van but so far no arrests. It’s unforgivable. No matter what, even if there’s nothing you can do, you need to stop and see if you can do something. Reporter: As Jackson’s family holds vigil at his bedside praying for him to recover. This isn’t about social media and seeing the perfect storm of a wreck. It’s about doing the right thing and not just sitting there reacting to a video but do something to help the person that is responsible serve justice. Now his father says Jackson is a beloved basketball player, student, brother and son and that the community is now rallying around him. According to the family, guys, doctors say they are cautiously, very cautiously optimistic about his progress. Of course, anyone with information about this horrific crash is asked to come forward to police. Let’s hope they’re right about Jackson. Really appreciate it.
